[U] Hollow Knight Silksong is coming day and date to Xbox Game Pass

Update: November 16, 2022 at 11:32 AM EST – Sony just tweeted that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be coming to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5!

Team Cherry has become one of the world’s most interesting indie developers. First starting as a Don’t Starve-style flash game, Hollow Knight was iterated upon several times before it became what it is today. After taking the world by storm in 2017, it became the game everyone was talking about.

If you’d like to learn more about the title’s initial production, the challenges that the team faced, and more, you should check out ThatGuyGlen’s YouTube documentary on it. Needless to say, fans are hungry for more, and although Team Cherry has yet to deliver on the promise of the game’s sequel – Hollow Knight Silksong – it’s hard at work crafting the experience.

Unfortunately, the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic have dictated that the game’s development had no choice but to slow down. During the 2022 Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase back in June, it was announced that Silksong would be releasing on Xbox Game Pass the moment it became available!

Discover a vast, haunted kingdom in Hollow Knight: Silksong! The sequel to the award winning action-adventure. Explore, fight and survive as you ascend to the peak of a land ruled by silk and song.

It’s now several months later, and Cherry has yet to give any updates on the project, which is leaving gamers itching for something – anything – to tide them over. With no official release date to speak of, it’s unknown whether a playable demo will drop anytime soon. Luckily, Microsoft made it a point to state during the aforementioned showcase that the game that were playable there were their focus for release within the “next 12 months”.

That would put Silksong in gamer’s hands no later than June of 2023, which is a whole 9 months away! Let me know in the comments what you’re going to be playing in the meantime, and whether or not you think we’ll get a playable demo before then.
