Sifu prepares one final content update, includes 75 new challenges, more
In a YouTube video yesterday, Sloclap confirmed the impending release of the final content update for its bone crunching hand-to-hand martial arts game, Sifu. The update is slated for release on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on September 7, 2023.
The addition of six dynamic arenas and 75 novel challenges should maintain the interest of anyone addicted to this masterpiece, as well as those who have yet to buy and play it! Sifu won best indie game in The Game Awards 2022, as well as a ton of other accolades and caught the attention of everyone looking for a unique experience among the slosh of AAA titles that have saturated the market these past few years.
This Sifu Arenas update also brings an array of game modifiers and cheats into play, alongside film-inspired outfits. To be honest, I’m stunned at how iconic and amazing this game has managed to seem. The standout feature though is probably the zombie-like enemies, doppelgangers, and interactive environments that were built to test your reflexes and strategic mindset in new ways.
While I’ve yet to play Sifu for myself, all of this makes me want to dive in even more. I’m definitely picking it up this week. While I’m sad I didn’t play it in real time with all of you, I’m glad I have even more to experience when I do. I’m actually going to binge it for a review here on Indie Game Mode. Let me know in the comments if you’re looking forward to this final content update, or if it makes you sad. Hopefully, the team’s next game will be in the same vein as this and Absolver.
